After "Aagadu", "Srimanthudu" is going to be the next biggest outing of Mahesh Babu.
This movie is a family entertainer and it features Mahesh Babu romancing actress Shruti Haasan for the first time in his career. Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Amani, Sampath Raj, Brahmanandam and Poorna are also playing important roles in the movie, which has R Madhi's cinematography and Devi Sri Prasad's music.
Mahesh plays the son of a millionaire (played by Jagapathi Babu) in the movie. After much deliberation, Mahesh zeroed in on an uber casual look replete with cardigans, jackets, scarfs.
The source also confirms that Mahesh Babu will flaunt a brand new hairstyle in "Srimanthudu". "The actor will have a layered bang, something he's trying for the first time. For a few episodes, he'll wear a messy hair-do, and will have a straight cut in some others.
Naveen, Y Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan have jointly produced "Srimanthudu" under the banner Mythri Movie Makers. The film was shot in Hyderabad, Pune and Tamil Nadu and now the actor is busy shooting for a fight sequence in Pollachi.
The film is expected to be released around May 1st 2015.

As per the latest reports that are doing rounds in the internet is suggesting that the story of this moive Srimanthudu has been leaked. It is being reported that this movie has same story line as that of Mirchi but some of the changes so that it will suit the manerisms of Mahesh Babu. It is said that this movie is an out and out Family entertainer with some action elements and this is movie will be similar to Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredhi.
After UTV Motion Pictures backed out of the project because of differences with Koratala Siva, overseas distribution company My3 Movie Makers came forward to produce this film.
Mahesh Babu was reported to play a dual role in the film for the first time in his career which was rubbished by Koratala Siva as a rumor.
Tulasi was selected to play Shruti Haasan's mother.
Prabhas accepted to give voice-over for few scenes in the film.
Shruti Haasan was reported to walk out from the project in late November 2014. Those reports however were rubbished as rumors later.
After considering Nadhiya and Gracy Singh for the role of Mahesh's mother, Sukanya was finalized in late January 2015.
Mahesh was reported to be seen as a NRI in the film in early February 2015.
The introduction song of Mahesh in the film was shot on him along with a group of dancers at Ramoji Film City.
