Hi, I am Uday Ravi Kiran Chintagunta. My name is pretty long ain't it!? So People call me just Uday. I am a youngster with all the interests a normal youngster would have and to be true a little more just than that.
About me:
Birthday: April 6th 1989
Gender: Male
Height: 6ft
Cultural Identity" Indian
Bio:
Education: Pursuing B.A
Occupation: Work online sometimes for pocket money and help my father in his business
Siblings: Two elder sisters
Hobbies & Interests: I was a lot into biking, travelling to places and other exploration related stuff. A little accident changed a lot in my life. Now I am into Computers, Internet, Browsing, Browsing and Browsing...
I am a 25 year old guy who has lot of plans in life like settling properly with a handful earning to satisfy my parents. I almost finished my B.Tech and had a few plans of joining well reputed company and that's when I made this little mistake of not wearing a helmet as I was sitting behind a guy and not driving. I met with a fatal accident on August 25th 2011 in which I hurt my head severely. It took me 8 months to recover and realize the fact that I am blinded for life. With my family's support and encouragement I again joined Andhra University to continue my education. They have equipped me with all the help and aids a disabled person would need and made me superbly abled. The reason I am into blogging is to prove that I exist and I am back in the race.
So here is Uday updating you with all the latest happenings around the world. My blog would contain the news not only to be first but also as accurate as possible.
I Me & Myself:
I, being a person with no eye sight am facing quite a few problems with mobility, searching for things and sometimes left behind as I have to be taken to a place instead of going there all by myself.
So what? I have not given up anywhere so far and want to maintain that. I would like to be called as 'Visually challenged' instead of 'Visually impaired' or 'Blind'.
There are many aids for the visually impaired such as training centers availing them with all kind of training and help required by them for their survival, overcome the problems they face in their daily routine and also get a job.
Let me share how I survive my daily life. Throughout the day I spend most of my time on the internet. There are software’s which help us to operate the computer such as JAWS (Job Access With Speech) and NVDA (Non-Visual Desktop Access).
With these software’s I operate my computer like everyone else. I check my mail, play YouTube videos, download software and read news. Most important of all I get the music all by myself and load it to my phone.
And as I have previously mentioned I used to use my phones with software’s like 'Nuance Talks' and 'Mobile Speak'. Now I moved on to a phone with Android Operating System and I operate it with an inbuilt software called 'Talk back'.
There are many software’s which are developed for the blind which are both free and paid.
The software’s which I found most useful are:
Caller Name Talker:
This is a very useful software as it reads the caller ID at mentioned intervals as 'Talk Back' reads it only once that too only in the beginning of the ring. It reads the contact name if it is saved or the contact number if it's not.
Blind-Droid Wallet:
With this software a person can identify a currency note using the phone's camera. He needs to run the software on his phone and put the note in front the camera and follow the instructions.
Color Detector:
This application is designed to recognize colors using your mobile phone.
Takes a photo and the color on the center is shown on RGB, HSV and HTML notation. Also looks for the nearest color name and speaks it (needs the Speech Synthesis API to speak Colors). It has a list of more than 1600 color names.
Useful for color blind people, designers, etc. Apart from the above applications there are many more in the 'Google play store' which help make the usage phone more easy and fun.
So, please share the above information with your near ones if at all they have a low vision or problem with their eye sight. These software’s can also be used by elderly people as they have poor eye sight.
THANK YOU...
